Finca Coffee Luger
If you want to visit a coffee finca, this is the best for me.
Organic coffee, small farm, good explanations about the history of coffee and coffee in Colombia in particular (in English too), family business with people who love their job! You will make your own coffee from harvest to cup and you will have a good laugh with the explanations of Lionel and company 😁!
To get there, take a Willys jeep on the main square of Salento.
The price is 55,000 pesos. The bracelets to enter the finca can be bought directly at the house (same price as on site and the taxis take you to the right place when you show them your bracelet) and we take care of notifying them of your arrival.
Visits from 9:00 am at fixed times and last visit at 4:00 pm (Duration: 2 hours)
Cocora Valley
Cocora Valley (the highlight 🙂): Same, take a jeep from the main square of Salento (the price is 10,000 pesos round trip).
When you arrive in Cocora, after the jeep parking lot, walk 50 meters, and on your right, there is a blue sign "Truchas Cocora" (Cocora trout farm). Take this path, it is the beginning of the hike..first the countryside, then the jungle with small bridges, then the mountain and once at the top, return via an easy path to the palm trees. It is a loop, you can not get lost 🙂. You can also do it the other way but the descent is more dangerous if the ground is slippery because of the rain.
There are 2 "tolls" 😅 because you are going through farmers' land (8000 and 25000 pesos).
You can make a small detour to the hummingbird house during the hike, but if you are tired or lazy, we have some on the terrace of the house 😁!
With a bit of luck, you will see one of the 2 couples of condors that live in the area.
Filandia
Beautiful little village a few kilometers from Salento (30 minutes by car - you can also go there by Jeep Willis, to be taken on the central square of Salento) or order a taxi from the house (85,000 pesos)
Once there, do not hesitate to go eat at Elena A Dentro, an excellent restaurant 😋
And go up to the viewpoint to see the landscape!
As soon as you arrive in Filandia, do not hesitate to book your return by jeep to be sure to have a place...🙂
La Carbonera
Sumptuous landscapes and virgin territories..
Departure 8:00 a.m. Return between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Round trip of approximately 55 kilometers.

Bicycle tour at La Carbonera
What it consists of:
Ride in a 4x4 vehicle to the top of the line (17 km)
Then a 7 or 8 km descent by bike to the Sanctuary of the Palms.
A picnic with snack and hike (30 or 40 minutes)
Continue the descent to the top of the line (7 or 8 km)
Then another 17 km by 4x4 vehicle to Salento.
Schedule:
From 7:00 or 7:30 a.m. (departure)
Until 2:00 p.m. (return Salento)
Horse riding
It is also possible to take very beautiful horseback rides in the surrounding valleys (including Cocora, but not necessarily the most interesting). The landscapes are sumptuous, you will cross several rivers and enjoy magical views!

Santa Rita waterfalls
Very nice walk of 2 to 3 hours, to do on foot from the house: Take the path below the house, go right (to join the main road), then on the main road, go left. Before the big yellow bridge, turn left, follow the river (basically, stay on your right all the time), for 30 minutes... and you arrive at a finca (the entrance to Santa Rita): 11000 pesos... 🙂. And a nice walk of 2 hours or more, with waterfalls.. you can swim if you like cool water 😅.
